Behind the Roots
So creative burnout is real, and my solution to that is to (drum roll please)... START A NEW COLLECTION!
As much as I love making my Bantu Knot Vases, it has literally been the only thing I've been making for the last year or so. So I've decided I want to start sprinkling in some collections throughout the year. Depending on how this one goes, it may help me decide the actual number. But don't fret, this isn't the end of my Bantu Baddies. I'll still be doing preorders; matter of fact, I'll probably be opening preorders sometime mid-September.
But anyways, back to this collection. I talk more in depth about it in my new YouTube video (go watch it here). We talk inspiration and we even get into some sketching. Although I'm in the early stages, I really hope you resonate with this collection's theme. You're going to have to watch the video if you want to know what it is (hehehe), but let me give you a hint: "NOW CDs." That's probably a terrible hint, but that's all I got for you.
1.CUSTOM ORDERS ~ I've been working on a custom order (for someone special, more on that later). I love being challenged with new ideas so if you have been looking for that one of a kind piece. Click here. I want to hear your ideas!
2.SAIL AWAY ~ I went on a cruise to the Bahamas and it was exactly what I needed. Sometimes you just need to escape, and I'm not saying you need to fly somewhere. Something as simple as going to a friend's house or even just working at a coffee shop can do wonders. Getting out of your space really helps.
3.MORE SKETCHING ~ I do some sketching for the next collection in this new Youtube video, but I have a loooot more to do before I go to the wheel. There is a lot of work that goes into making a collection, and I want to make sure I'm as prepared as possible, and that starts at the ideation phase.
