A NECESSARY RESET
ISSUE NO.2
What’s up, Strong Humans. I’m Danielle, your certified Claystylist. Welcome to my corner of clay, Black hair, and building an artist’s life.
Behind the Roots
There is a lot of darkness in the world right now. I hope, even in these heavy times, you are able to find moments of peace. For me, pottery has always been my safe haven. No matter what fires the world is going through, it has been my constant, a space where I can breathe, create and reset. I believe God will see us through and guide us, even when things feel uncertain. In a world that often feels out of our control, I wonder: what is your constant? What helps you stay grounded/sane/steady?
I just uploaded a new YouTube video where I share my home studio plan. I’m so excited to start bringing it to life, and I hope it can give you a little peace and comfort too.
New Growth is a peek at what I’m excited to explore in the studio this week.
1.BUILDING MY STUDIO ~ I finally took a step back and planned out what I want my studio to look like. I had a vague idea in my head, but seeing everything laid out with actual images brought a sense of calm and made the vision feel real. It makes me even more excited to see it all come together.
2.SNOW IN TEXAS ~ It snowed and people are freaking out here in Texas. I honestly don’t mind being snowed in, being the homebody that I am. There’s something about snow that makes me feel nostalgic. Growing up in Colorado, these snowy days remind me of a time when life felt quieter and a little less complicated. Don’t get me wrong, I can’t wait for this to be gone, but it’s been nice having a little snowy reset.
3.BANTU KNOTS GALORE ~ I’m deep in production mode finishing my first pre-orders of the year. Now that the Bantu knots are made I can finally move into my favorite step attaching them and watching the Bantu Baddies take shape. With the new colors I’m offering this might be my favorite batch yet!
